UK the ‘whiplash capital of the year’

“WHIPLASH” is the common term for an acute sprain of soft tissues in the neck from an impact such as a car accident. The frequency of this type of road traffic injury has been described by surgeons at the University of Manchester’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as “a modern epidemic”.

Britain’s prison compensation culture costs over £3 million

It has been reported in the Independent that compensation payments made to prisoners in England and Wales has almost doubled in the last year to beyond £3 million. The figures, released by the Ministry of Justice, show an alarming trend in rising claims and financial settlements between inmates and the prison services.
