Accidents happen when you least expect them

Accidents, of course, happen when you least expect them. You could be walking along the factory floor and slip on something that you have not noticed. You could be driving and someone crashes into your car, leaving you injured. Accidents happen all the time and often they are not our own fault.

In regards to injuries that are not your own fault, the law says that you are able to claim compensation for any injuries sustained in accidents. Often this may seem to be a very daunting task to take on. After all, you (more…)

Types of injuries for a personal injury claim

Personal Injury: It will never happen to me

This is a phrase often heard, but sadly accidents affect someone, somewhere, every minute of every day. Personal injury is both painful and traumatic, but if the injuries have been the result of someone else’s actions or indeed inactions, then the discomfort, not only physically but mentally, can become even more intense.

The legislation that exists today is (more…)

Injury claims rising in the UK

It will come as a surprise to few that compensation claims are on the rise. Between 2006 and 2008 alone there was a staggering 31.8 % rise to 1,205 according to legal resource Sweet & Maxwell. To be fair, who could blame anybody claiming in today’s climate? With moral standards apparently dwindling and personal debts rising, we live in a “Dog Eat Dog” world. We are told 2.5 million sustain injuries every year, and it is the person at fault’s responsibility to reimburse losses.

In 2010, talking to someone about (more…)

New Drug Set to Save the Lives of Thousands of Accident Victims

Thousands of people in the world die every day due to accidents. According to figures from the World Health Organisation, an estimated six million people die annually from accidents around the world. This accounts for about 10% of all deaths in the world, with most of the deaths occurring on roads. Sadly, compensation for a majority of these road traffic accidents goes unclaimed.

Recent research conducted on accident patients from 274 hospitals located across 40 countries reported that an estimated 100,000 lives can be saved across the world if the report released in Lancet was implemented. According to (more…)

The role of compensation claims companies

In an ideal world, compensation claims for accidents at work would never be necessary, but unexpected injury can happen to an employee more often than is imagined and any worker affected in this way need not be concerned that the incident is too trivial to be compensated. They should seek the advice and help of compensation lawyers. This is the reasoning behind a recent BBC news report which stated the idea that “spurious compensation claims is an urban myth”; going on to suggest that most claims are not frivolous.

Claims companies regulated by the Ministry of Justice are proving successful in gaining compensation for an assortment of work accidents at all levels .These payments range from those for repetitive strain injury and vibration white finger, up to a recent successful claim for the fatal effects of asbestos exposure. Employers have a responsibility to protect their workforce by (more…)
